See the Toyota AFL Grand Final Replay

Monday, September 27, 2010

If you didn't get tickets to the 2010 Toyota AFL Grand Final Replay on October 2nd, don't despair, you can still join in on all the excitement.

The game will again be broadcast live around Australia on free-to-air TV. Overseas fans will be able to see the telecast live in some countries and delayed in others.

In addition, the Victorian Government has given Melbourne fans the opportunity to watch the game live on giant screens for free at AAMI Park.

Up to 30,000 fans will be able to join the festivities at the park which will include entertainment, other celebrations and  the winning team being presented the cup live on stage after the match.

Given that tickets to the replay sold out in just five hours, AFL Chief Executive Andrew Demetriou said the event was a great boost for fans.

"I would like to thank the Victorian Government for again supporting the Toyota AFL Grand Final as they did on Saturday and ensuring that as many supporters as possible can enjoy the day and the post-match celebrations in comfort and safety," Mr Demetriou said.

Even though the AFL Grand Final Replay is expected to make a considerable amount of money, the AFL is a non-profit community organisation. Monies raised from the extra game will provide a huge benefit to the sport, helping players, clubs and leagues from the elite level through to grassroots footy.
