The 13th National Conference on Volunteering is being held at the Sebel and Citigate Albert Park, Melbourne from 27-29 October 2010.
The conference, organised by Volunteering Australia, provides an opportunity to debate and exchange ideas and information on the issues that impact the more than 5.4 million Australians who volunteer each year.
Challenges such as the impacts of an ageing population and the global financial crisis continue to be areas of discussion within volunteer industries.
The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Initiate. Discover. Examine.’ which offers the opportunity to explore current and emerging trends in volunteering.
The opportunity to participate in Australian Football is largely provided by the efforts of an estimated 120,000 volunteer coaches, administrators and umpires.
This conference will explore the way we currently engage with volunteers, and to discuss and debate future trends and developments in volunteering. Given that football clubs are built on the efforts of volunteers it is important that club presidents and committees understand the best ways to engage with volunteers.
