The AFL, in collaboration with Griffith University and the Australian Sports Commission is conducting a Player Development Survey aimed at providing vital information on how best to develop all players from community football right through to the AFL. The survey is part of an Australian Research Council project which is the most comprehensive research on athlete development ever conducted in Australia.

We are calling on all players over 14 years of age across the country to take part. We are pleased to invite you to take part in our recently launched Player Development Survey to let us know about your experiences with Australian Football. Your participation in this research is eagerly sought and will be greatly valued.
You can read more about the research on the project website Sporting Talent Project or go directly to the survey using the link below.
“The AFL is proud to be part of this research project” says AFL National and International Talent Manager, Kevin Sheehan. “One of the reasons Australian Football has become a leader in Australian sport is that we stay at the forefront of sport research projects like this one. This project will assist us to ensure we continue to provide the best possible player development programs.”
We ask that coaches who are coaching eligible players (over 14 years of age) please assist us by passing this information on to their players and encouraging them to take the survey.
As a symbol of our appreciation for taking the survey participants will go into the draw for one of 10 double passes to an AFL home and away game of their choice or gift vouchers for AFL Stores.

Please note that all information you provide is treated as strictly confidential and will only be used for the purpose of this research project. Results are reported in aggregate form and you will not be identified in any way.
Thank you for helping us to better understand how to assist in the development of our most important people, you, the players.
