AFL Announces Female Coaching Forum

The AFL is hosting a Female Coaching Forum, which will provide a unique development opportunity for coaches of female football.

Date: Sunday November 13th 2016

Venue: MCG

Time: 9:00am til 4:00pm

Price: $100 per person (Includes Food and coaching resources)

This forum is aimed at coaches of players in their teenage years and above, who are looking to enhance their knoweldge and skills associated with coaching females in football.  

Speakers will include: 

Major General Simone Wilkie - AFL Comissioner

Michelle Cowan Fremantle Dockers FC 

Peta Searle St Kilda FC

Angie Bain Australian Diamonds and Australian Cricketers Association 


The forum will include a range of topics that will be indispensable knowledge for any coach of female footballers

These topics will include:

Creating positive club environments, Culture- Behaviours and values

Effective communications and feedback 

Player wellbeing 

Practical sessions covering: 

Kicking skills, body contact, strength and conditioning, prevention of lower leg injury


The cost of the Female Coaching Forum is $100 per person, which includes morning tea, lunch and additional coaching resources.

Unfortunately, I am unable to attend and thankyou for the invitation. I attended the session Craig S spoke at earlier this year a t Subiaco and Im keen to build the resources for the club I will be at next year. The club would benefit from any available resources if they are available to interstate non attendees via email. Thank you
