  • Western Bulldogs v Melbourne (players for both teams were from the AFL Victoria Women’s Academy).

Match 3 -

  • Saturday April 9 - SCG
  • Sydney Swans v Greater Western Sydney
  • Battle of the Bridge Turns Female!
    • For the first time the best NSW/ACT women will wear Sydney Swans and Greater Western Sydney guernseys. In hot pursuit of the implementation of new Female Talent Academies, there’s never been a more exciting time to be female and play footy in the East! A trip to Adelaide Oval in June is on offer for the best players in this match.

Match 4 -

  • Sunday April 10 - Peanut Reserve, St Kilda
  • NT Thunder v Tasmanian Devils
  • Thunder Down South
    • NT Thunder’s new women’s team travels south to Melbourne’s Peanut Reserve to clash with the Tasmanian women’s team. Both teams are passionate and proud and should put on an entertaining match. Thunder will rely on their pace and endurance to run the Tassie girls off their feet. The Devils will intimidate NT with their strength in congestion. Both teams hope to have players represented in the September 2 Melbourne v Western Bulldogs match.

  • Saturday April 9 - Domain Stadium
  • West Coast Eagles v Fremantle Dockers
  • The Derby Takes on New Look!
    • Hosts West Coast Eagles are expecting a large crowd in early to see their exciting women’s team compete against the first Fremantle Dockers women’s team.  Previously drafted players, Kara Donnellan (WCE) and Renee Forth (FFC) have both said how proud they are to be the first female captains of their respective clubs. Should be a fast and open game with many talented newcomers named in both sides.

Match 7 -

  • Sunday June 5 - Etihad Stadium (Melbourne)
  • Western Bulldogs v WA
  • Doggies and WA to clash
    • Pitted against a strong Western Bulldogs women’s team, WA’s “Black Ducks” will have their work cut out trying to keep the agile Mo Hope scoreless and getting passed the irrepressible Meg Hutchins. Hope and Hutchins both love a challenge and are sure to provide forward excitement and stodgy defence respectively.  For the first time many players will experience footy under the roof at Etihad.
