Pink Power Girls Footy Day

Friday, November 16, 2012

AFLNT recently staged its annual Pink Power Challenge day at TIO stadium for girls in grades four, five and six from Darwin and Palmerston primary schools.

A total of 10 schools entered 16 teams which played a round robin AFL9s format on a bright sunny Darwin day.

Games were punctuated with the bin-kick challenge, the handball target and the jumping castle waterslide for teams that had a bye in between games.

After preliminary rounds were complete, the top team from each pool played off in a finals series.

Wagaman, Alawa, and two teams from Millner all played off for the top spot. Alawa won the day by beating Millner in the Grand Final.
