The SHINE program is delivered to Year 4 students and promotes healthy eating, active lifestyles, beach safety and AFL Skills. The SHINE program concluded with a Carnival Day being held at Metricon Stadium on March 18 with students meeting GC SUNS players Jackson Allen, Alex Sexton, Clay Cameron and Andrew Boston who spoke about the programs key deliverables; healthy eating, active lifestyles and beach safety.

The MSP program is delivered to students in grade 5-7. The programs key deliverables include cultural awareness and social inclusion as well as AFL Skills, rules, umpiring and modified matches. Schools for this program are chosen to participate based on the percentage of multicultural students that are enrolled from grade 5-7.

The two programs have been delivered to 600 students in term 1 and the SUNS will continue this work visiting 1500 students on the Gold Coast in term two.
