The Map is Back!

Thursday, March 27, 2014

Tasmania in 2014 will compete in the School Sport Australia AFL Carnival which is being held in Sydney. The state will be participating in both age groups  U/12 & U/15 boys team with the support of a number of enthusiastic AFL School Ambassadors who are keen to have “the Map” back on centre stage where it belongs.

The three regions of the state have highly successful school junior competitions/carnivals and AFL School Ambassadors are the key drivers of such events. There is a healthy relationship between schools and State League Development Officers who conduct programs, coach teams and umpire matches through the winter terms.

The State League  Development Officers are talented individuals and boast the likes of Jeromey Webberley (ex Richmond) and Aaron Cornelius (ex Brisbane) among their ranks. These officers will be actively involved in the matches leading up to the selection of almost 50 talented youngsters who will be wearing the famous jumper for the first time.
