SAAS Open Football Competition

Thursday, September 11, 2014

The Sport Association for Adelaide Schools (SAAS) Open Football Competition finished off another great year with Prince Alfred College (PAC) taking out the Messenger Shield. PAC went through the season undefeated, earning them the Messenger Shield presented to the top team of division 1. This is the third time in five years that they have won this competition.

Both PAC and Sacred Heart College then met in the State Wide Knockout Grand Final to decide the strongest open football team across the state. Both schools have a fierce rivalry which set the scene for the deciding contest. It was a great game at the Norwood Football Club, with Sacred Heart College kicking away to take out the title, winning 15.9 (99) to 4.10 (34).
