Footy at Clayton North Primary

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

Clayton North is a school of around 300 students represented by over 50 countries of origin and speaking over 50 different languages.

We deliver a comprehensive football program that ensures when and if they return to their home country they will have had a positive football experience and hopefully spread the footy language throughout their homelands.

We have ran our own modified Auskick program through term one each year for 3 years. We now have over 50 students participating in this program each year. The program runs from 3.45-4.45pm, eliminating the financial and transport limitations of our community. The whole community gets involved including parents and relatives.

Clayton North also runs its own ‘footy leagues’. We run a level 3 (grade 3/4) and a level 4 (grade 5/6) league. Students are a member of an AFL team for 2 terms and play against each other using AFL 9’s rules every fortnight on average. This is done when we do not have interschool sport running. Students develop a love for their team and the ‘banter’ of footy emerges itself amongst the students.

For more information or to discuss what you can implement in your school please feel welcome to call or email myself.

Thank you
