Australian football is played widely overseas. International participation numbers exceeded 100,000 for the first time in 2011.

The 2011 International Cup was played in Sydney and Melbourne. Twenty nations were represented across 18 menís and five womenís teams. Ireland won both the menís division one and womenís titles. Fiji won the menís division two title.
