An ACL is a bitter blow to any sportsperson but when Dania Herdman injured her’s it provided more time to fuel her other love, taking photographs of footballers!

Dania’s image of the Cooparoo Youth Girls team performing their half time cheer, proved the public’s favourite gaining over 10,000 views and 650 votes!

“I love taking photos and I’m always the person with a camera in my hands at a footy game,” said a delighted Herdman.

“When I did my ACL I turned to coaching and taking more photographs.”

Herdman co-coaches Brisbane based Cooparoo with former High Performance Academy player, Emma Zielke.

“I love capturing great moments and have always had an interest in photography. I especially love photographing sport as I love getting great action shots and having people enjoying and using my photos.”

Herdman’s injury allowed her to focus on her photography and because of her popular victory she becomes the official Australian Youth Girls NZ Tour photographer. This enables her to capture an image diary of the football and fun of the tourists and their hosts when the Youth Girls embark on their first International tour.
