AFLís Female High Performance Academy (HPA) 2013 Test results

Records and benchmarks set

For the first time female footballers in Australia conducted AFL Academies testing. Males have been tested for many years but this has only just formed part of the minimum standards curriculum for female footballers. By establishing benchmark data for both State and National testing protocols will assist coaches with understanding what is a good range of achievement for their female footballers.

The battery of tests for fitness were:

Agiity, beep, sprints (5m, 10m and 20m), standing and running vertical jumps.

The players also conducted the Buckley/Lloyd kick and handball tests for the first time. Based on the results these tests will be modified and conducted through a trial phase in order to establish the optimum tsting distances for female footballers.
