NSW/ACT celebrated their first ever Nationals victory, defeating the Thunder Devils by 35 points in Game 8 of the Championships.

A big first quarter from the host state set up the triumphant win, resulting in a 8.10.58 to 3.5.23 result.

Hay Lions star Jodie Hicks kicked the first goal for NSW/ACT, breaking through a pack to slot it through.

She didnít waste much time in getting her second on the board either, slotting a goal from 40 metres out on the run.

NSW/ACT looked dominant from the get go, maintaining the majority of possession for the first quarter.

The combined Northern Territory and Tasmanian side got their first major on the board in the second half through Maddi Smith (2).

Erin McKinnon played a fantastic game in the ruck for the winning side, clearing the centre clearances and also providing plenty of assistance around the ground.

NSW/ACT did not concede the lead throughout the match, but a great contested mark and goal from Rebecca  Beeson (4)  put the game out of doubt in the 6th minute of the final term.
