Daisy PearceDaisy Pearce: Vic

Pearce is currently one of the superstars of female football. She's a member of Victoria’s undefeated state side and has helped Darebin Falcons win five consecutive premierships in the VWFL.

"I love the competitiveness of football," Pearce said.  "I’d love to play professionally. Me and so many of the women and girls who play our sport are so passionate about the game it’d be great to do it full time, instead of spending Monday’s doing rehab with a sore knee in a world of pain bending to catch babies!"

Pearce is a midwife so despite soreness, it's unlikely she would drop any of her clients!

Daisy rates her family as her biggest supporters of her football journey.

"My dad Daryl enrolled me in Vickick [Auskick equivalent] and made sure that no-one stopped me playing when I reached U13s and was deemed too old to play with the boys,” she said.

"My older brother Harry was also instrumental as his passion fueled mine. He taught me a thing or two about the physicality of the game while dad got me training on my non-preferred side."

Not to be underestimated is the support of Daisy’s current workplace, Box Hill Hospital.

Pearce said, "they have been surprisingly supportive allowing me time off for any talent commitments and games as well as telling every pregnant woman about my football career."

That would be pretty easy given Pearce is probably the best baby catcher in the place!
