Match 6 -
Being related to AFL legend Polly Farmer sits comfortably with Tiah Haynes. Unlike Polly, Tiah is a nippy forward/onballer.
In her short footy career she has accumulated several awards, premierships and numerous state selections.
Haynes has also displayed leadership selected as Youth Girls captain in 2011.
A player she tries to model her game on is that of Joel Selwood.
"I like the way he's hard at the ball and always puts his body on the line,” Haynes said.
"He is a young leader and as a player has grown immensely since taking on that role. I’d like to think I can do the same."
Haynes' dad has provided ongoing feedback and coaching to her but she could also have easily gone to Mark "Choco" Williams who she's also related to.
"My dad is always there for advice and gives me things to improve on throughout the game."
If she can emulate the feats of her male relatives then she will be a superstar.
"I hope I’m still young enough to play in a National League for females. If not then I will certainly be in a role to help those who are."
